Work where others spend holidays!
In the middle of the nature reserve "Eggstätt Hemhofer Seenplatte" is the main plant in Eggstätt, where we produce our brakes and parts for trailer technology.
The proximity to the water protection area, which begins directly behind the company in Eggstätt, and the associated environmental regulations have been omnipresent for us since the company was founded in 1937 and are lived accordingly by the employees.
Also the installed 3000 solar modules on the roof of the company testify to the sustainable handling of nature.
Unlike fossil carriers, electricity from the sun is available in unlimited quantities. KNOTT has secured this advantage by commissioning a photovoltaic system. On the roof of KNOTT in Eggstätt, 3,094 modules with an output of 805 kilowatts produce at least 900 megawatt hours per year, which are used proportionately for the company's electricity supply. This corresponds to around 25% of the annual demand. The focus is not only on the company's own green electricity but also on the interaction between different energy generators. The CHP unit at KNOTT works according to the principle of combined heat, power and cooling and generates not only electrical power - an additional 200 kilowatts - but also heat and cooling. In winter, the heat produced is used for heating and in summer, the integrated absorption refrigeration unit is used to provide air conditioning for the halls. A control software optimizes the interaction of the load profile with the electricity production from the photovoltaic system and the CHP unit. This sophisticated energy management ensures the economic efficiency of the entire plant.
The Eggstätt-Hemhofer lake district refers to a group of 18 individual lakes with a total area of around 3.5km² northwest of Lake Chiemsee. The villages of Eggstätt in the northeast and Hemhof in the west are the namesakes of this nature reserve.
Already during the development of the brake, we focus on the fact that the components are recyclable and thus sustainable.
You are welcome to send your brake back to us for repair. Please contact our customer service for this purpose.
