Methodology of the study
Surveys show that when employees in Germany are asked which factors are particularly important to them in the workplace, aspects such as "job security" or "a secure job" are always at the top of the list. In other words, the majority of people are looking for recognizable job security. This is hardly surprising, as most people's livelihood and prosperity depend first and foremost on their job. But which companies can employees and applicants expect their jobs to be particularly secure and promising? Together with the Institute for Management and Economic Research (IMWF) and FOCUS-MONEY, DEUTSCHLAND TEST investigated this question for the seventh time. The answer is provided by the current study "Germany's best jobs with a future".
On behalf of DEUTSCHLAND TEST, the Institute for Management and Economic Research (IMWF) put more than 12,000 companies to the test. Three subject areas were examined, each of which accounted for one third of the score:
- Sustainability (social, ecological and economic responsibility, inclusion, emissions, diversity),
- Profitability (new locations, branches, risk management, competitive advantages, investments, turnover, profit)
- and working atmosphere (employer attractiveness, everyday working life, work-life balance, workload, overtime, remuneration, profit sharing).
First, all texts containing the predefined search terms were downloaded from the Internet and recorded in a database. In the second step, the data was analyzed in three stages using artificial intelligence: Which company was mentioned? Which topic was discussed? What was the tonality of the text fragment? In the final stage, the mentions were assigned to the categories positive, neutral or negative (carried out by Skaylink).
The "Germany's best jobs with a future" award was presented based on the number of points achieved in the overall ranking. Companies that achieved at least 60 points in the overall ranking received an award. A total of around ten million entries were recorded and evaluated (from May 2022 to April 2024).
